“600 kids on the sidelines”: Tours FC disappears from French football after its liquidation confirmed

After the liquidation of its professional structure a few weeks ago, the Tours FC association was unable to recover its sporting rights by decision of the FFF this Wednesday and is therefore dissolved.
By Le ParisienHis reprieve will ultimately have lasted only a short month. Tours FC is definitively wiped off the map of clubs after the judicial liquidation of its SASP (professional sports limited company) pronounced on January 30 by the appeal court of the Orléans court. The latter had been in the grip of significant financial difficulties for several years,
As reported by Foot Amateur and confirmed by the Tours management, the FFF Executive Committee (Comex) decided this Wednesday not to authorize the transfer of sports rights to the association. All the teams still active, and on probation, can therefore no longer finish the season, i.e. 616 licensees. The matches of the last two weekends had already been postponed
The president of the association was outraged by this decision. "It puts 600 kids on the sidelines overnight. We could have gone to the end of the season, it's unacceptable," Ali Sahby told La Nouvelle République. He plans to appeal: "We're going to ask ourselves the question in any case."
Long present in the antechamber of the elite of French football, in Ligue 2, Tours FC lost its professional status by being administratively demoted to N3, in the summer of 2019. In the past, several renowned players, including Olivier Giroud and Andy Delort, had participated in the great hours of the club, whose current team now plays in Regional 1, like its Women's team.
